Strother was born on July 23rd, 1946 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Now resident of Minneapolis he recorded three albums
and made most recently his 8th european tour in only 6 years time. At the Topos club in Leverkusen / Germany he was
supported by a very good dutch band around guitarist Jan Mittendorp, who had done recordings with Percy, too. Live
Strother is a charismatic singer with a huge deep 'soul' voice. But he does hard Chicago blues in the Muddy / Wolf
style, too. His guitar work is execellent. He has a cutting sound but still routed in traditional blues playing.
Surpringsly he occassionaly blows the harp with a nice sound. To find more about this great musician check out his
personal website: www.visi.com/~ psl/home.html and for his latest
dates in Europe: www.crossroads.nl |
